In A New Young Lovers Dawn

A world past
In weeks and years,
They slipped by
So ephemeral.

How many thoughts
What words were whispered?
As the dance of life lingered fleeting
Soft in the pillow case lace.

Did I remember the love
The tender smiles she gave
Holding hands beneath the quilt
As I kissed her sleeping hair.

The lost decades passed
So quickly, my crows feet lines
Turned to laughter lines
Under her tender caress.

A world went by
In the wink of an eye
Now that empty grave awaits me
Must we soon part?

Will the clock of chaos return
Will my cherished memories burn?
Or keep me warm
Until we meet again.

In a new young lovers dawn.
