An accountancy student asked his boss to explain ethics in accountancy. After thinking for a while he related the following:

“Mr Jones, a client, came in last week and paid me his bill. His bill was £1,000 and he paid in cash. When he left I counted it and it came to £1,100.”

“I see. The ethics question is: Do I tell the client?”

“No! The question is: Do I tell my partner.”
