TV sometimes has news items, which are introduced with ‘some scenes may upset viewers’. Are they chosen because they’re upsetting? Many films and TV shows glorify sadism, this includes ‘nature’ programmes. Sadistic voyeurism makes hedonists happy because it reduces the actuality.
