I sighed a melancholy sigh
A Dostoyevskian sigh.
A sigh from the bottom of my heart
A sigh that said ‘Enough is enough.’
And I knew the end had come
I am a genius, world-renowned
An intellectual master of the universe
Praised and lauded far and wide
I’ve changed the world- for the better-
And the world has been generous.
Now I know better. My genius is a fleeting moment.
Praised today, forgotten tomorrow
Somewhere, someone, will destroy my life’s work.
Standing on my shoulders
My genius feeding their genius
I’m part of the genius conveyor belt
I’m not Socrates, Bacon or Einstein
I’m today’s genius, a temporary wonder.
I’m going to be consumed by time
I’m going to commit suicide memorably
(Chris)
I’m not a genius and therefore I don’t have the burden of worrying about my historical ‘image’, or legacy.
Very moving, Chris-but dont leave us as per last sentiment
